Today has been a key moment in the work and development of the Africa Leadership Team. As part of their processing of their vision and purpose, the leaders identified three main areas of priority for the work of the team: that of providing eldership for YWAM Africa, of creating a climate that encourages growth of the work of YWAM in Africa, and of holding YWAM workers in the continent to the values and vision of the mission.

Kobus Van Niekerk, who has been acting as the chairperson of the ALT for the last few years, commented that, “Spiritually there has been a shift”. Other leaders said that, “[This process] was needed … it has come at the right time” and “This [clarification of our purpose] will help us be more proactive.”

The team have now moved onto discussion of agenda items but they will take time later in the week to identify three priority goals for immediate action in the areas of eldership, of growth, and of vision and values.
