During the time of worship this morning an exciting word came to the ALT to expect unprecedented growth in the work of YWAM across the continent of Africa. The group were reminded of the story of the poor widow who had to prepare many pots to receive oil that flowed until there were no more pots left to fill. As leaders of YWAM in the continent the team recognized, with a sense of excitement, the need for them to identify new ways to hold and support what God wants to do.

In the afternoon the leaders shared reports from their different areas of responsibility. We heard exciting stories from North, South, East and West Africa, as well as from the Indian Ocean Islands. There was much rejoicing in the ways God has enabled YWAM to work into new areas, both geographical and areas of influence. In Nigeria, YWAM has been part of seeing militants hand in their arms. In Madagascar, at a time of conflict, YWAM has continued to experience growth and new leadership appointments. YWAMers in southern Africa have been targeting places in central Africa with no permanent YWAM presence. Leadership, Member Care and Communication training has taken place in a number of places in Africa, all of which is part of strengthening ourselves to be ready for the growth God has promised.
