Washington December
From May to September 2006, God taught me a lot during my YWAM-DTS.
During the outreach phase we went to Malawi where we worked with an orphanage. God revealed to me through His word from the book of Exodus 22:22-24 where He gave the responsibility to look after the widows and orphans. In the book of James 1:27 the Bible tells us about our Christianity and the way we handle orphans. My mind opened and God gave me a different spirit towards orphans. I learned that it's not money or some other things we might think they need. It is important to just sit with them, encourage them and show them the love they missed from the time their parents passed away.
Don't classify them according to their background. An orphan is an orphan no matter what killed the parent; be it AIDS, malaria, headache or a road accident. They need our love and care. Take time to read the above scriptures from the Bible, meditate up them and see what God will do in your heart. 'Take care of the orphans'.
